You would have heard of gold rings for men in 10k, 14k or 18k gold. Briefly explaining the concept of 10k 14k 18k gold here. Gold in its natural form is quite soft and not very suited to make durable jewelry. Metals are added to gold to improve the hardness of the resulting metal (alloy). A men's gold ring in 10k would be harder than rings crafted in 14k or 18k gold.You will come across 14k rings for men quite often. The metal in this case would be a bit softer as compared to 10k gold but, harder than 18k gold. And if you had to compare the metal hardness of 18k gold rings for men, both 10k and 14k gold would be harder than 18k gold.
